Hello Glassies! To all of those who do not know, I am one year deep into writing an intermediate and advanced glassblowing technique book. The first book to be released in 2017 is titled Life on the Rails: Intermediate Glassblowing Techniques. Hand drawn freeze frame process shots will be accompanied by detailed explanations of various common glassblowing techniques. My goal is to teach a technical foundation that serves as inspiration to push individual expression with glass to the next level. Originally, it was titled Verbalize and Visualize. There are 400 stickers floating around with this title. Think of them as a necessary step in the creative process... This blog will be dedicated to connect and interact with the glass community as I finish up the book. As things progress, I will be posting images and pages. I would love to hear suggestions and feedback. My hope is for this book to be a work of art that doubles as a teaching tool. The cover page, full page illustrations, and process images are all hand drawn. I am still waiting to hear back from a publisher who is interested in my project. Either way, if I commit to a publisher or self-publish, funds will need to be raised to finance the first print run. I am currently working with a videographer in Phoenix, AZ, Brandon Paschal, to create the video for my Kickstarter project. It may seem like I am getting close to getting this book out into the glass world but there is still tons of work ahead of me. I have learned so much already! The next month will be quite busy for me. I am part of five person group exhibition at Ken Saunders Gallery in Chicago opening Oct. 7th. Then I fly to Turkey. I was invited as an international visiting artist to be a part of the 4th International Glass Symposium! Finally, I return to Chicago for SOFA! Thank you to everyone out there who is supporting me with this endeavor. I couldn't do it without you! Steve Behind the Scenes

Steven CiezkiI grew up in Calumet City, IL. My professional glassblowing career led me to Phoenix, AZ and the coast of Carlsbad, CA. where I was given the opportunity to teach glassblowing classes. Notes and chalk drawings of different techniques for the students resulted in my current book project. Archives
